Planning exists to control new development so that it takes place in accordance with the development plan and other land use based polices of the Council and government. Development includes both building work and changes of use. Planning applications are made to the Council for all sorts of development from house extensions to new business parks.
The current adopted Development Plan for Denbighshire is the
Unitary
Development Plan (UDP) which was adopted 3rd July 2002. The Council has now
started the preparation of a new
Local Development Plan (LDP) which will replace the existing policies and
proposals in the UDP.
The purpose of this website is to encourage Community Involvement in Planning and allows users to:
1. Submit planning applications online in association with the national planning portal.
2. Allowing our customers to access planning applications, view drawings and associated documentation and providing the means to comment on any current applications
3. Providing access to a range of Planning Policy information including the UDP, LDP and Supplementary Planning Guidance.
4. Enabling our customers to get involved in the preparation of the LDP for their local area
5. Providing details of Planning Committee including agendas, minutes and up and coming dates
You can search for an application by using the link planning applications. This facility allows you to search by reference number, applicant name, site address, community council or ward area, and between specified dates. If the application has not been decided you can make comments direct to the Case Officer.
