For the above application the borehole will need to be 50meters from the existing septic tank to meet the required standards for drinking water.

I would suggest the following condition be applied – The borehole shall be a minimum of 50 meters from the existing septic tank or as far as is reasonably practicable given land ownership rights and be constructed to meet the requirements of the good practice guide for the construction of boreholes.
